Advocating for Peace in Northern Uganda - Invisible Children

The Legatum Institute supported Invisible Children’s Gulu Rescue Event which brought together Acholi leaders from the districts of Gulu, Kitgum, Pader and Amuru as well as top-level government leaders.
The event, held at Gulu University, discussed solutions to ending the civil war and successful return and resettlement for displaced citizens. These debates enabled local leaders to voice the people’s desire for the rescue of child soldiers, as well as the reconstruction and rehabilitation of their communities that have been affected by the war.
